Promoting Innovative University Research

Arizona State University: McGrath Matter Case Study

Situation:

Arizona State University’s management school was pioneering research into mapping the leadership areas of the brain through a partnership with neuroscientists.  ASU tested leaders to learn how they visualize the future, organize information and motivate others to succeed.  The university wanted to promote its work to build its reputation as an innovative business school and attract future research funding.

Solution:

We worked with the ASU team to review their findings and select the most newsworthy angles, focusing on how executives could use insights from the research to improve their leadership abilities. We targeted national business news media for coverage of this groundbreaking work.

Results:

We secured major coverage in The Wall Street Journal, Businessweek and other outlets, which drove national exposure for ASU’s research.  The coverage drove inquires from other institutions interested in exploring the new field of leadership neuroscience.
