Enhancing Corporate Reputation to Build Business

Situation:

The Rouse Company, a leading real estate developer, was developing a new generation of luxury retail centers aimed at affluent consumers. While the company had a quality reputation in its industry, the luxury segment represented a new direction. Rouse had to build interest and gain a commitment from premier tenants and investors who were key to the projects' success.

Solution:

We worked with the client to communicate the vision, potential and benefits of these projects through a series of media events employing on-site fashion shows and celebrity appearances. These activities were backed by an ongoing publicity program to raise visibility for the company and its new projects in key trade and business media targeted to the fashion and retail industries.

Results:

We secured Page One coverage of the projects in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, as well as extensive television coverage and several interviews for the CEO on business news programs. The resulting exposure helped the client secure investor support and attract quality tenants to the new properties. Both projects exceeded expectations for occupancy and rental income.
